A commercial operator is contracted to agitate the pits, pump wastewater up to 3 miles via above ground tubing and apply via a knife applicator that puts nutrients below the ground surface in the corn root zone. The manure is sold to neighbors and has great demand.
The cattle feeding improvements are presently used to finish beef cattle but would work equally well as a dairy heifer development facility.
MARKETS:
There are 3 large ethanol plants within 30 miles of the property and 4 more within 60 miles. These plants provide distiller grains (DDGS and corn gluten) for the feedlot.
