Terrain: The Red River Game Ranch is a prime recreational hunting property offering excellent hunting, outstanding views, Red River frontage, expansive slough areas, and countless other outdoor activities. The ranch location is key for prime wildlife habitat and the expansive MILE PLUS of river frontage, bottomland, and diverse terrain that makes the Red River Ranch a phenomenal hunting environment for a wide variety of wildlife. The property is very secluded but has excellent access and very minimal road exposure. There are two access points with one having a short stretch of the county road actually bordering the tract and the other being at the end of the road. The southern area of the property consists of dense grassy fields and scattered cultivated fields. These grassy plots are home to bobwhite quail as well as a prime deer bedding area. As you move north on the ranch, there are several large draws that begin out of the landscape and are channeled toward the gamey Red River Bottom. These draws are lined with thick brush such as mesquite, hackberry, plum thickets, and various other brush. Wildlife is found travelling the draws from the fields on top to the Red River valley below. Some areas below the big bluffs have live springs and are filled with hardwoods and various other brush. Huge red bluffs lie between the deep draws and allow excellent viewing of the bottomland below as well as scenic river views toward Oklahoma. The current owner has strategically managed the ranch for several years and has installed blind and feeder setups in the most opportunistic areas to view and hunt wildlife. In the Red River bottom there is a rectangle man-made duck slough with a large island in the center. In the winter months the waterfowl flock to this area and the water table here is just a few feet deep. This waterfowl area of the ranch could be easily made much larger because of the shallow water table. Water can be hit just a couple feet below the surface allowing the vegetative area to be flooded for even more phenomenal waterfowl environments. Ducks are also found on the ranch and in a pond that has been dammed up with flooded timber throughout. The Red River Game Ranch is a perfect getaway for the serious trophy hunter or family ranch with activities for everyone. With a ranch offering so much, it is impossible to fully describe all the great advantages of this property. Let us show you what this amazing ranch has to offer!!
