Bell Forest
Bell Forest is a great piece of recreational property from top to bottom. It has road frontage along Oak Grove Road in Wood County WV and is less than a 20-minute drive from Parkersburg. The highest elevation on the property is along the road and there are scenic views from several vantage points. See picture 1. It's hard to see it in picture 1, but there is a level building site in the foreground and access to this point is along an old timber haul road that needs to be cleaned up and put back in order. Pic 7 shows this access point just behind the black dog in the picture. Utilities are available along the edge of the property including electric, phone and water (pics 3, 4, & 5).

The property is approximately 82 acres but cannot be guarantee as it has not been surveyed and is therefore being sold by the tract, not the acre. The east, west, and south side boundaries have been marked with red paint. See pic 8. Trees with two dots on the same side have the boundary line passing on that side. Trees with dots on opposite sides of the tree indicate that the boundary is passing through the tree. Trees marked with three dots painted on one side point toward a corner of the property. These boundary markers should be considered approximate and cannot be guaranteed. The northwest corner is marked with a large pipe painted red. See pic 9.
There is ample deer sign on the property (see pics 10 & 11) and the various parts of the property can be accessed via an ATV trail (pics 12 & 13). The property is divided from east to west by a tributary of Stillwell Creek and a couple small brooks branch off from it on the property. See pics 14 22. This forest has been managed as timber land since the 1960s when WV Pulp and Paper purchased it. See pic 23. The buyer of this property should consider registering it with the state as managed timber land due to the savings on property taxes. The woods are healthy, and many species are represented. The property is entirely forested and is mainly hardwood with some pines scattered throughout. There is no marketable timber on the property now, but you can enjoy the property as the forest increases in value. See pics 24 31.
