The journey is part of the reward on this conveniently located and affordable hunting tract. It would be entirely possible for a new owner to harvest deer, ducks, and walleyes all on the same day on or close to this piece of ground. The access strip to get into the parcel is unapologetically knee-deep wet, best accessed via waders or hip boots. An amphibious machine such as an Argo would be highly useful to a new owner or potentially laying pallets down to walk over. This area is ripe for a seasoned duck hunter as beautiful woodies were popping up from the wetland cover on the regular as I worked my way through the acreage. The thick willow brush between the access strip and the hardwoods to the south features a maze of well-used deer trails exposing their daily bedding habits in the thick terrain. This area is a more manageable wetland and a trail heading south toward the woods could likely be created with some effort if deemed necessary. A strategically placed tower blind in this area for deer gun hunting would likely be very productive and allow the owner to cover a lot of ground. The promised land of this acreage for a hardcore bowhunter is the 20 plus acres of mainly mature soft maple timber to the south. This area has heavily used deer trails coming in from the bedding to the east and they use this north-south corridor consistently which puts them in a vulnerable spot. Alternative access to this wooded area would be to come from the Wolf river south of the parcel and walk what is a higher timber strip to come in from that direction (multiple boat landings are close by). On the very north end of the acreage is an approximate 5-acre timbered area that has also been a productive spot over time. The property has been lightly hunted mainly during deer gun season over time but quality bucks have definitely come off of it. This reality isnt a surprise given the 1,000 plus acres of DNR land to the east that is virtually inaccessible due to being mainly thick wetland cattails. Please call list agent Dave Schutt to discuss showings for this property. Physical capability to get through the marsh and hip boots or waders will be necessary.
