Keyes Mountain Ranch is made up of 2,124 acres situated in Wheeler County, just a short distance from Mitchell, Oregon. The property is located in the Fossil Hunting Unit, which bodes well for the avid hunter because not only do you get Land Owner Preference tags, but the Fossil Unit is also a 100% rifle elk draw in the Oregon tag lottery. Additionally, the archery tag can be purchased over the counter. There have been significant improvements made to the property for the wildlife habitat, including the installation of a 10-acre alfalfa field. Many springs, ponds and other water developments have been made to create the perfect haven for elk residency.

The Ranch is set up perfectly for archery and rifle stand-hunting, featuring six elevated Redneck hunting blinds and one custom-built elevated blind. There are numerous viewpoints on the property, perfect for spending hours glassing and watching hundreds of elk roam. The property lies in one of the primary travel corridors for elk moving from the Ochoco Mountains into the Fossil Unit. This regular travel route brings in new trophy-class bulls on any given day. The current ranch owners have observed and benefitted from the steady movement of elk that travel through the ranch in this elk superhighway. Several of the bulls harvested were never seen on trail camera; they just arrived one day, traveling from one ranch to another. It is not uncommon to see 500-750 elk at any given time from the Tower House in late October-early November.
The ranch borders no public land, which helps prevent the potential for trespassers that many other ranches deal with. Furthermore, Keyes borders large-acreage ranches, most of which are managed for wildlife as well.
The property features three main structures: The Tower House, The Man Cave/Shop and The Cabin.
The Tower House is a three-story structure sitting atop the 6,000-ft Keyes Mountain. The Home has full utilities and incredible panoramic views. The first floor is composed of the kitchen, living/dining area, one bedroom and a powder room. The second story boasts one of the most unbelievable master suites you will ever sleep in. On the top story you will find a heated room enclosed by accordian-style glass doors, a full wet bar, fire pit and hot tub where you can gaze upon jaw-dropping sunsets.
The Man Cave/Shop is were the majority of the action happens; here you will find a perfect meld of practicality and entertaining. This building features five garage bays, a full kitchen, walk-in game cooler, two bedrooms and one full bathroom.
The Cabin is a four-bedroom, two-bathroom house that exudes classic, cozy hunting cabin. Each bedroom features a sink, and the cabin also has laundry hook-ups and a full kitchen.
Keyes Mountain Ranch, with its premiere hunting, innovational structures and breath-taking views, offers an unparalleled ranch experience.
