DESCRIPTION: The Copper Hill Tract provides excellent southwest Georgia hunting at an affordable price. The tract was in a long term timber lease with Mead, and Mead clearcut most of the timber in +-2007, before the 2008 timber lease expiration. Mead left timber in the creek buffers, and left some mature upland hardwood timber on the west end. The uplands have been allowed to naturally regenerate, providing excellent and diverse habitat. CHECK OUT THE PICTURES! The uplands have regenerated in a mostly hardwood pine mix with pockets of thick brush for excellent wildlife beccing and escape cover. Native grasses and weeds are establishing well, and the uplands could be fire maintained to promote even better habitat. The 2007 Upland Natural Hardwood Pine Mix would be ideal for establishing a new pine plantation if desired.
There is paved road frontage, and a great perennial creek system, with several possible lake sites. The spring head on the west end is known as Poplar Springs, and the creeks on the property feed the Kinchafoonee which is just down stream about one mile. The Kinchafoonee swamp is only about a half mile down stream. If you have been looking for a great hunting property with significant acres, but affordable, the Copper Hill Tract is it.
