It featured an extended foyer plus a bedroom flanking either side.

The result of this fusion dcor maintains the authenticity of the Victorian era, preserves the elegance and grace of Texas history while providing all modern comforts.

PROFESSIONAL AND GUEST REVIEWS
Mariposa's guests and reviewers say it all
D Magazine "Breakfast is ample and rib sticking: Fresh fruit and fruit juice, scrambles, hash browns, sausage, and pancakes were one morning's menu. Between meals and naps, there's a seemingly endless array of ranch dogs to play with, one of which - a border collie named "Queenie" - was tirelessly obsessive compulsive when it came to stick fetching. You could easily wile away a weekend on the capacious front porch watching the leaves or russet, red, and gold in the fall."
Southern Living Magazine "A romantic and historic getaway with warm hospitality and country elegance."
KD from Galveston, TX "We are sad that we only got to spend a short time here and were not able to form the same bond with the dogs as our predecessors. Alas, we had NO porch dog and felt somewhat slighted. Maybe next time we'll bring dog treats to entice them!"
TJ from New Braunfels, TX "A wonderful weekend full of wonderful food, friendship, laughter, and some heavenly ecstasy!"
KM from Ft. Worth, TX "We enjoyed the dogs! It's especially nice when your room comes complete with private porch and porch dog!"
JH from Lake Charles, LA "The Fern Oaks Cottage is the perfect place to remember just each other."
