FM 247 North from Huntsville (from intersection of FM 247 and FM 2821, go north 7.7 miles) to Jordy Road, only turns right or east, follow for 9/10 mile to dead end of road where the property begins
DESCRIPTION: An almost square tract (2002' x 2163') surrounded on 3.5 sides by large timber company tracts. South one-half of west boundary is a private landowner. Gently rolling hills with approximately 20%, +/-, in young pine timber. 60%, +/-, of tract is basically open land that has been recently cleaned up. 20%, +/-, is still heavily wooded; this is the area along Nelson Creek and two streams that flow into Nelson Creek. The highest elevation is 230 feet above sea level and the creek bank of Nelson Creek is 180 feet.

CREEK: Nelson Creek is a year round creek flowing toward the Trinity River. It is a spring fed creek that has pretty clear cool water over a rock bottom. As it crosses this tract it cuts off 2-3 acres i n the southeast corner, however, this gives control over both sides of the creek to the 100 acre tract. You can wade across Nelson to the south side. A couple of deep holes of water are along the tract's creek frontage. A very small portion of this tract would be considered floodplain; the high banks keep the water contained within the creek. Bank to bank is approximately 150 feet; normal stream (water) width is approximately 30 feet.
WILDLIFE: This tract is in an area known for a good deer population. According to Walker County Hardware (the folks that annually run the Walker County Big Buck Contest), 60-70% of the placing big bucks for Walker County come from between Nelson Creek and Bedias Creek and east of I-45. Besides deer, wild hogs, squirrel, duck, dove and restocked wild turkey are in the area. Nelson Creek offers fishing for bass, perch and catfish.
IMPROVEMENTS: The property has a cabin that has recently been remodeled. The cabin is 20' x 24' with a 10' x 24' front porch and a 6' x 8' deck off back. Nice bath with shower, small kitchen with new refrigerator and stove, tile floors. Window unit (18,000 BTU) for air conditioning and heat. An artesian water well 144' deep (3/4 hp pump set at 100') with a new holding tank supplies water. New fences on property and new corral.
