As it crosses this tract it cuts off 2-3 acres i n the southeast corner, however, this gives control over both sides of the creek to the 100 acre tract. You can wade across Nelson to the south side. A couple of deep holes of water are along the tract's creek frontage. A very small portion of this tract would be considered floodplain; the high banks keep the water contained within the creek. Bank to bank is approximately 150 feet; normal stream (water) width is approximately 30 feet.
WILDLIFE: This tract is in an area known for a good deer population. According to Walker County Hardware (the folks that annually run the Walker County Big Buck Contest), 60-70% of the placing big bucks for Walker County come from between Nelson Creek and Bedias Creek and east of I-45. Besides deer, wild hogs, squirrel, duck, dove and restocked wild turkey are in the area. Nelson Creek offers fishing for bass, perch and catfish.
