The Union Pacific railroad runs east west through the northern part of the ranch. The famous Pecos High Bridge originally built in 1892 crosses the Pecos river on the west side of the property. It had a total length of 2180 feet and stood 321 feet above the river. In 1943 the bridge site was moved 449 feet downstream and a new bridge was constructed. This bridge is still used today. It's importance is emphasized by federal troops stationed there during WW11 to prevent sabotage. Without this bridge, southern east west railroad service would be impossible.
An excellent road system provides easy access to most of the ranch. Most of the main roads are in excellent condition and caliche covered.
There is an abundance of excellent deer browse such as kidneywood, guayacan and shin oak over the entire ranch. The ranch holds a large population of whitetail and free ranging exotic sheep including aoudad.
