This is a one of a kind piece of property located on the Bankhead Lock (Holt Lake) and the Black Warrior River. The view is hard to describe but stunning is a good beginning. The property hasn't been leased for hunting in years but the last time it was, it produced very impressive deer. The Corp of Engineers used this tract for their staging area when The Bankhead Lock and Dam was constructed. A large area on top of this tract was leveled and an airplane runway was built so the Corp of Engineers could fly up and check on the construction progress. The topo map shows an area of strip mining on top but we have been told that was where the leveling was done and the runway was built. The Corp of Engineers retained a small easement along the water's edge or own a small strip of land between the water's edge and the subject property but the owner was granted a general easement to cross it to get to the water. One idea might be is to develop the rim into a high-end residential lots and reserve the middle for nature trails, hiking and horse back riding.
