The Camp Nelson Lodge sits in the quiet mountain community of Camp Nelson in southern Tulare County. Historically, it has been used as the social hub for this community, hosting events, dances, and guests to the full-service mountain resort for many years. For the last decade, the current owners have used it as their own personal family vacation retreat. The main building houses the 50's style diner, and the main lounge room, which is large enough to have two opposing fireplaces, along with a bandstand, dance area, and quiet places for conversation. The commercial kitchen supports both the 50's diner and the main dining room. Finally, the luxurious master suite overlooks the deck and lawn area below the lodge building.The two-story secondary building has ten guest suites, all with attached baths and inviting verandas on both stories. Guests will sleep comfortably in fully furnished rooms that are each decorated in individual mountain and western themes. Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and woods await guests, just outside their rooms.The property offers endless recreational activities. Just up the road is the Giant Sequoia National Monument, the Golden Trout Wilderness area, the headwaters of the Kern River, as well as quiet and accessible Giant Sequoia Redwood groves. Biking, backpacking, day hiking, fishing, bird watching, swimming, and off-road travel are excellent summer activities.
