The Salmonberry River is revered amongst the steelhead fishing community as one of the last great wild winter steelhead fisheries in the United States. With winter steelhead surpassing 20 lbs, and in a river that is very difficult for the general public to access, the wild fish have benefitted from this sanctuary that the Salmonberry River provides.
The property has a Measure 49 claim that permits the owner to develop up to two additional homesites on 2.5 acre lots. This is extremely unusual on Exclusive Forest Use zoned land. The lodge has been used to generate some revenue. The lodge currently rents for approximately $350/night and could easily cover the property taxes and some additional revenue.
