Church of Christ, Scientist

Built in 1915, this beautiful example of Classical Revival architecture has graced the corner of Dawson Street for well over a century. This structure was commissioned by one of Thomasvilles prominent plantation owners to be the home of the Church of Christ, Scientist. Designed by noted architectural firm of Hubbell and Benes, based in Cleveland, Ohio, the building features striking details such at the ionic columns, Palladian windows, and locally milled brick, and moldings. In addition to the original sanctuary, another well designed structure was added to accommodate church offices and classrooms.
