Location: The Bomar Division of the Nail Ranch is located northwest of historic Albany, Texas. Albany is the county seat of Shackelford County. Albany is approximately 35 miles northeast of Abilene and about 125 miles northwest of Fort Worth.

Terrain: The topography throughout the property is diverse, being rolling and hilly. Elevations range from approximately 1,800 feet in the upland portions of the ranch to around 1,650 feet in creek bottom areas. Limestone rock outcrops are common. Historically, the Nail Ranch has been operated as a cattle ranch and the main focus of the property has, until recently, been ranching and livestock. Years ago the property was cleared of brush to improve livestock production. Today, the regrowth of mesquite is ideal for wildlife, offering some of the best wildlife habitat to be found.
