On the north end of the ranch there is a new one-of-a kind cedar log cabin. It was built by the owners almost entirely from local materials using cedar, mesquite and sandstone. The cabin has approximately 1600 sq. ft. of living area with 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. One bedroom is downstairs and the other is a loft bedroom. The great room includes the living, kitchen and dining areas. A massive rock fireplace covers most of one wall; the stairs are made from split mesquite and cedar; the kitchen cabinets and bar are cedar and mesquite. The craftsmanship throughout the house is absolutely intriguing. A room A/C cools the entire cabin, testifying to its energy efficiency. Water is provided by the Richland Rural Water System. The landscaping around the cabin is very eye-catching with a colorful flower garden and sitting area. An awesome rock water feature and fire pit offers a great place to sit and look out over the large stock pond near the house. This pond is stocked with large blue catfish. The yard has an automatic watering system and there is a 1000 gallon septic tank serving the cabin. Much more can be said about the cabin and the area around it, but it must be seen personally to truly appreciate.

The land is both productive and scenic. The hilly terrain is covered with Live oak, Post oak, Blackjack oak, elm, mesquite and some cedar. Cottonwood Creek crosses the ranch and there are large pecan trees along its banks. Cottonwood is a seasonal creek and holds water in holes for much of the year. There are 5 very good stock tanks on the ranch and 4 are stocked with fish. Five fields are scattered throughout the ranch and provide a total of about 40 acres of coastal & native bermuda grass for grazing and hay production. The rest of the ranch has a good turf of native grasses. This is an active cattle and horse ranch. The sandy soils are ideal for both types of operations.

Hunting is very good! The ranch is covered with game, including Whitetail deer, turkey, dove, quail, feral hogs and more. The fishing is great in the tanks, so no matter what you prefer for outdoor entertainment, it is there.
