The southern area has a nice ridge that runs predominately east to west and I saw a couple locations that would be perfect for clearing out some trees and making a spot to shoot some clay pigeons from an elevated position as the hill drops away over some lower lands. This area of St. Louis County is also in prime lake country! There are several great small to mid-sized lakes within minutes of this property. In fact, a half mile away or so is Young Lake. Young Lake is approximately 132 acres with minimal development. It has crappie and northern pike according to the MN DNR Lakefinder Website. It is an unimproved access but would be great for a small boat, canoeist, or kayaker to get out and enjoy some peaceful Northwoods water. There are lots of smaller lakes close by with trailer access for a bit larger boats. Two of the well-known walleye factory lakes close by are the Whiteface Reservoir and Island Lake Reservoir. The real kicker is if you are looking for other activities for the whole family while "up north", Duluth is approximately 46 miles away!
