A cattle operation has continued as part of the restoration with the foremost priority being restoration of rangelands to their natural pre-agribusiness state. Reestablishment of native vegetation, the maintenance of healthy soils, and the conservation of local watersheds have been essential elements to restore habitat in the Alamito Valley.
As the new owner of the Alamito Canyon tract, opportunities for continued involvement in the restoration projects are available or you may operate the ranch as you please, as there is no conservation easement in place.
