DESCRIPTION: Rancho Viejo is a rugged, high desert mountain ranch with elevations ranging from gently rolling, sparse greasewood country at around 3300 feet up to canyons and high, gramma grass mesas at 5000 feet. Anna Spring comes out of the high country above the headquarters and provides water to the headquarters and gravity flows to 11 storage tanks and troughs throughout the central and southern portions of the ranch. McComb Spring also runs a creek and waters much of the western part of the ranch. Two other dependable, year around springs and several wet weather springs and tinajas assure that this ranch is well watered.
