This amazing house ranked by Architectural Report as one of the top seven home designs in the world in 2004. Inspired and executed in the Minimalist style established by artist Donald Judd, a former resident of Marfa, the house sits on 2,400 acres of rolling grasslands west of Marfa fronting on scenic Pinto Canyon Road. It is located on one of the highest hills in the area that provids commanding views of the surrounding grasslands and mountains including, the Davis, Chinati, Sierra Viejo, Puertocitos, Haystack, and Cathedral Mountains.

Constructed in 2001 and designed by architect Carlos Jimenez, Carlos Jimenez Studios of Houston, the house is 8,000 sq. ft. of climate controlled interior space and 5,000 sq. ft. of covered porches,courtyards,pool, pavillion, outdoor grill, fireplaces and firepits; six bedrooms, 7 full baths, 2 half-baths.

The house has a guest wing of four bedroom suites, each with own private bath, and a guest laundry. The land where the house is located is part of a million acre Chihuahuan Desert Grasslands called the Marfa Grasslands and is home to many species of birds, both raptors, songbirds, and upland game birds as well as Pronghorn and Desert Mule Deer. This property has a conservation easement with The Nature Conservancy and can be split into three tracts with three headquarters in the future.
