The well-sited and spacious 3-story home overlooks two pastures and a barn. Stone retaining walls add to its elegance and create a level yard. The living room, master suite, laundry room, and a half-bath are also on the first level.

Exposed timbers and a large sandstone fireplace with a stone hearth create an atmosphere of warmth in the living room. A built-in cabinet conceals the television. Three double casement Pella windows add plenty of light. A back hallway with a pantry and half-bath connect the living room and kitchen.

The master suite is just beyond this area. The bedroom features a cathedral ceiling and stone fireplace, French doors opening onto the patio, and a bank of picture windows affording distant views of Snowshoe Mountain in the winter. The scenic, gently rolling land has an excellent sledding hill. The farm adjoins the Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park, which commemorates West Virginia's last significant Civil War Battle, the Battle of Droop Mountain on November 6, 1863. The park has hiking trails and picnic tables.

Snowshoe Mountain Resort is about 40 miles north of the farm, or an hour-and-fifteen minute drive. The town of Marlinton is 16 miles, and Lewisburg is 25 miles to the south, or 35 minutes.
