This is due to the ideal habitat provided by the native grass pastures of Pounds Valley and the excellent stands of hardwood atop the Jack Fork Mountains. The region also has Eastern Wild Turkey and an occasional Black Bear. There are numerous small game species such as rabbit, squirrel and non-game species such as fox, bobcat and coyote.
