THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED. Tucked away in the southwestern corner of Mississippi is this little diamond in the rough. Left undisturbed for many years, this tract offers an array of possibilities for its new owners. PR26 is located on low traffic Dumas Wise Road about seven miles west of Picayune, MS. HUNTING, FISHING, RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES. The mature hardwoods and pines, along with the seasonal creek that flows across the center of the property, provide great habitat for area wildlife. Southwestern Mississippi is one of the premier hunting and fishing areas in the state. Whitetail deer, turkey, small game, and migratory waterfowl are plentiful in this location. In addition to the many onsite possibilities, there are some nearby spots for even more outdoor fun.
THE SCENIC PEARL RIVER. PR26 is located five miles north of the Pearl River boat ramp on Walkiah Bluff Road. The scenic Pearl River is an excellent waterway for fishing, boating, and kayaking. Bass, catfish, crappie, bream, sunfish, bowfin, and longnose gar are just a few of the fish species common on this section of the Pearl River.
BOGUE CHITTO NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE. PR26 is just five miles north of the Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge. Located along the Louisiana-Mississippi line approximately 40 miles north of New Orleans, it is bisected by the Pearl River. The refuge encompasses 36,500 acres of the Pearl River Basin, most of which is accessible only by boat. The refuge is a popular place to enjoy fishing, hunting, paddling, bird watching and nature photography. Several free boat launches provide access to the refuge from Louisiana and Mississippi. Upland game, deer, squirrel, rabbit, raccoon, opossum, waterfowl, and hog hunting are allowed subject to State approved season and regulation. Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge is subject to Louisiana or Mississippi hunting regulations and seasons. Regulations and seasons apply according to on which side of the river you hunt.
NORTH AMERICAN (MISSISSIPPI) WATERFOWL MIGRATION FLYWAY. This listing is also in the North American (Mississippi) Waterfowl Migration Flyway. Wood ducks and migrant gadwalls, mallards, bluebills, and ringnecks are among the many duck species that can be found in this area.
