775 East , Carbon, IN 47837(Parke County)

This is one of the better potential hunting properties we’ve had in a long time. In a great part of the county for big bucks and huge turkey numbers, this property is connected to vast expanses of hardwood timber offering unlimited cover to grow and hold mature bucks. Besides having some beautiful rolling hardwood covered ridges this property also offers nearly 7 acres in fields that could be easily converted back into tillable fields for crops or secluded food plots.  Along with the existing fields, a pipeline right of way adds an additional open area for hunting set-ups or more food plot planting. Although the fields are currently in waist-high weeds the FSA maps show that these are good and productive soils with history of 165-bushel corn and 54-bushel soybean capability. Along county road 775 East runs a rocky creek along the border and access is from the blacktop road of 775 and across a steel beam bridge which needs new decking boards to provide an excellent access up the gravel drive to the top fields. There are many ridges which spoke off and down away from the top fields creating dozens of access routes for the deer and lots of potential stand locations.  Turkey hunting will be incredible here too once these fields are planted or kept cut shorter as the gobblers strut in the open fields hidden from view.  While you’re here turkey hunting, you will also want to keep an eye out for the mother-load of morel mushrooms that this area is also known for.  The timber on the property was harvested but it has been 10 years since and the woods has many impressive trees that will be marketable size soon.  The selling family enjoyed the property for many years as a getaway camping destination and would love for a family to love it as they have and hopefully be a legacy property for years to come.
