The Tarryall Creek Ranch consists of approximately 842 lush deeded acres with 360-degree views and approximately 2.5 miles of the Tarryall Creek fishery. The fishery is part of the South Platte River headwaters. Being near the origin of this drainage, the water in Tarryall Creek is clean and cold which supports an incredibly healthy riparian corridor. The diversity and volume of aquatic insects in the fishery is astounding and it greatly benefits the trout that enjoy the creek. Because the riparian corridor is so healthy, a variety of other wild game enjoy this well-watered sanctuary. Elk, Pronghorn Antelope, Mule Deer, Bear and birds of prey enjoy the benefit of the ranch year-round. The signature of the ranch setting it apart from almost any other offering is its thirty to fifty foot bluffs which stand guard on either side of the creek offering privacy and serenity to the creek bottom....

The signature of the ranch setting it apart from almost any other offering is its thirty to fifty foot bluffs which stand guard on either side of the creek offering privacy and serenity to the creek bottom. As you move off the bluffs down into the riparian corridor you are in a world of your own. The bottom offers 360-degree views of Lost Park National Wilderness on the east, the Kenosha Mountains on the north and then a string of icons lying within the Mosquito Mountain range including Mt. Boreas, the ever-prominent Mt. Silverheels at 13,823 feet and one of Colorado's 58 famous 14ers, Mount Sherman at 14,042 feet. The views from within South Park Colorado are nearly unmatched in the state and The Collard Ranch takes advantage of a majority of them. Fly fishing on this kind of creek against the ranch's backdrop offers anglers an iconic Colorado experience. The fishery can be expanded by over 3 miles and 1,600+/- acres by adding the neighboring ranch- the Upper Tarryall Creek Ranch which is also offered by Confluence Land Company.
The ranch is an easy and scenic one hour and forty-five-minute ride from Colorado's two most populous cities and their international airports: Denver and Colorado Springs. Its location checks the elusive box of meaningful acreage containing a substantial trout fishery within proximity to international airports and the attractions of a major metropolitan city. The ranch lies within South Park which is one of Colorado's three intermontane basins. South Park was declared a National Heritage area by the United States Congress in 2009 to honor and preserve its rich agricultural heritage. There are only 55 of these National Heritage Areas in the United States. The ranch is close to the summit of Kenosha Pass which is one of Colorado's most photographed area during the fall when its thick stands of aspens change from green to orange and golden yellow. The Park County seat of Fairplay is just 10 minutes south. Beyond Fairplay another 30 minutes is the world class ski destination and town of Breckenridge. The Frank Collard Ranch is central and convenient to a host of year-round attractions and state destinations.
The ranch cradles approximately 2.5 miles of the Tarryall Creek- a tributary to the headwaters of the South Platte River. The creek is the crown jewel of the ranch. Together with the lush green riparian corridor the bottom land of the ranch is a wildlife sanctuary. This ranch will appeal to those looking for the quintessential Colorado angling experience and the privacy owning creeks and rivers afford the landowners. The river bottoms in the State of Colorado can be privately owned and in the case of The Collard Ranch you will enjoy a high sense of exclusivity and serenity as a result. Confluence Land Company has engaged Freestone Aquatics to provide a complete analysis of the Tarryall Creek as it flows through the ranch. Nearly all of the area's big game enjoy respite on the ranch. With good feed and ample water resources, they find comfort on the ranch year-round. Eligible for Colorado's Landowner Preference Program (LPP) and 100% within Colorado's draw only game unit, the ranch has received vouchers for Elk, Mule Deer and Pronghorn Antelope.
The headquarters of The Collard ranch rests creek side under one of the ranch's forested bluffs. Current improvements include pipe corrals, calving shed, a barn and shed. It also includes three modest ranch cabins. The ranch features well graded roads throughout while not unnecessarily infringing on the creek corridor. There are a myriad of homesites on the ranch for your home and building improvements. Choose a sustainably powered home or grid power as grid power runs right through the ranch and is easy to pull.
