There are ATV trails that lead to many spots where you can hunt or trap Black bear, Whitetail deer, Grouse, Waterfowl, and other Wildlife. To the north, west and south of the parcel are thousands of additional acres of Corporate CFA land, for walk-in access to hunt, trap, or fish. A MI-Trale Organization sponsored Snowmobile Trail F runs along the Firesteel Road, between the Village of Ontonagon and Greenland, with access just a half mile away from the property. This trail connects to the Bill Nichols Trail. Both scenic and challenging, this trail (a portion of designated Snowmobile Trail #3) covers 41.5 miles of sometimes steep, sometimes sandy and sometimes soaring terrain. The trail takes you over the west and east branches of the Firesteel River on three successive steel bridges that total nearly 1,300 feet in length, with a maximum clearance over the water of 85 feet, providing a breathtaking experience. Nearly 40 miles of the trail follows the route of the Copper Range Railroad, built between 1899 and 1901. When the state acquired the line in 1974, it was among the first inactive railroad corridors in Michigan to be converted to a public trail. Not far away is the Adventure Mining Company. There you will find guided underground tours of one of the best preserved copper mines in Michigan. You can walk through part of the tunnels or try rappelling with a rope and harness in other levels of the tunnels. The mine site also has miles of free-use hiking and mountain biking trails on some of the most unique and challenging single-track trails in the Midwest. The property is only a 30 minute drive from Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. This 60,000 acre park is one of the few remaining large wilderness areas in the Midwest. Towering virgin timber, secluded lakes, and miles of wild rivers and streams make a visit to the "Porkies" a trip to remember. The homestead's original buildings were razed, and the current Owner has placed a Liberty Brand two-bedroom Modular Home on the property. This building is being sold "As Is, Where Is". The woodlands have moderate timber value. Contact us to set up your appointment to see this great Western Upper Peninsula Recreation Land. MLS# 1091614
