The Bates Creek riparian corridor provides excellent protection for livestock and habitat for wildlife. In addition, Stinking Creek merges with Bates Creek on the Ranch providing a wide corridor of cottonwood trees and willows with many sub-irrigated areas. Away from the creek bottom, improved and native pastures extend to the south and provide hard grasses which put excellent gains on cattle.
Fenced into 5 main pastures, rotational grazing is possible with fencing which is in average to good condition. Stock water is considered to be good.
The Ranch is currently operated as a cow/calf operation of 200 mother cows. With approximately 607 acres of water rights and 286.8 acres under pivot irrigation, ample winter feed can be produced.
