The balance of the property boasts incredible amounts of wildlife including deer, turkey, and small game. In walking the property I found thick bedding areas and funnels created by the terrain loaded with deer sign. Giant oak timber ridges mixed with cedars and other hardwoods are connected by a series of trail systems allowing access to all different parts of the property. Gravois Creek, a beautiful rock bottom live stream runs into the west side of the lake and can be followed through a maze of bends and turns. Below the lake, there is a cave accessed by a trail that is sure to impress. The lake is stocked with bass, catfish, crappie, and bluegill and makes a perfect swimming hole.
The club has a strict set of bylaws, and as mentioned, has limited membership. New membership is to be approved by the club on the first Sunday in May at the annual meeting, so the sale of the cabin and share will be contingent upon approval. There is a board of directors along with three committees delegated to different tasks and attributes of the club including lake committee, grounds committee, and forestry and roads committee. 2017 dues consisted of general dues at $150, lake fund at $100, assessment at $115, and individual tax on cabin 13 at $220.45. The property is 3 hours from St. Louis, 2 hours from Springfield, and 2 hours and 10 minutes from Kansas City.
