PETITE SIRAH: .5 acres. The vine and row space is 6 x 10 with + / - 447 vines. Irrigation: Drip system (replaced in 2015); the rootstock, selected for our soil, is 110R, 25 vines, were planted on March 18, 2015. The first commercial crop was harvested on August 1, 2010.

DURIF is a variety of red wine grape primarily grown in Australia, California, France, and Israel. It is the main grape known in the U.S. and Israel as Petite Sirah, with over 90% of the California plantings labeled "Petite Sirah" being Durif grapes. It produces tannic wines with a spicy, plummy flavor. The grape originated as a cross of Syrah pollen germinating a Peloursin plant. On some occasions, Peloursin and Syrah vines may be called Petite Sirah, usually because the varieties are extremely difficult to distinguish in old age.

SYRAH: 2.2 acres. The vine and row space is 6 x 10 with +/- 1,587 vines. Irrigation: Drip system (replaced in 2015). The rootstock, selected for our soil, is 1103P, 1560 vines, were planted on April 26, 2010. The first commercial crop was harvested on August 1, 2013.

Syrah is a very time-honored wine grape dating back to the earliest wine making in Mesopotamia and was first planted in France by the Romans more than 2000 years ago. Today the Central Coast of California is renowned for its production of superb New World Syrah. TEMPRANILLO: 2.8-acres. The vine and row space is 6 x 10 with +/ - 1,919 vines. Irrigation: Drip system (replaced in 2015). The rootstock, selected for our soil, is 110R, 625 vines, were planted on June 19, 2007. The first commercial crop was harvested on August 1, 2010.

Tempranillo is a native vine from Spain with a deep red color, therefore referencing the Bull in the name for our Tempranillo was natural. Add to this, the Cholame Valley has a long tradition of cattle ranching, from the first Spanish settlers to the annual Parkfield Rodeo.
