This region of Colorado is known for its high elk populations offering hunters an excellent chance of harvesting both bull and cow elk.Opportunities to harvest 2 elk per hunter are possible; unit 421 is classified as a List B unit which means depending on the season you are hunting, a hunter can harvest an additional antlerless elk. Located in game management unit 421, over the counter elk tags are available for archery, 2nd rifle and 3rd rifle season as well.Elk can be found on the ranch from early archery season all the way through the late rifle seasons.The topography on Buzzard Creek Ranch is relatively gentle for a mountain property making the entire ranch extremely accessible to people/hunters of all ages. The scrub oak brush provides an excellent source of cover and feed for both deer and black bear. The 5 springs and six water holes help keep game nearby during the early season hunts. Mesa County is renowned for HUGE mule deer. There are 47 documented typical mule deer bucks listed in Boone and Crocket records book! Don't under estimate the trophy potential of the local black bears either! Other species found on the ranch include merriam turkeys, mt. lion, coyote and bobcat. There are also over 11 miles of Jeep/ATV trails throughout the ranch.If the hunting wasn't enough, Buzzard Creek Ranch has a fantastic home offering the perfect mountain retreat for entertaining you friends, family and business associates. The stucco home consists of 3 bedrooms in the main house, a private office (or 4th bedroom) and mother-in-law suite above the two car garage as well as a total of 4 full bathrooms. Additionally there is a really nice caretaker's apartment above the barn with a full bath, and kitchen. There are literally great views in every direction!The barn has three padded horse stalls, a tack room, heated water, half bathroom and an insulated shop.
