I was very excited when the owners of this wonderful hobby farm selected me to help them find the new owners, and to start the next chapter in the history of the farm.
The property has an interesting history behind it: Carl Swanson immigrated to America from Sweden and homesteaded the farm in the 1880's.The original house was taken down and the existing two story home was built in 1900 by Carl's sons, Herman, Robert, and Richard. The Swanson brothers were respected carpenters and Herman built a number of creameries during his lifetime, including the Dassel and Cokato creameries.

The home has many updates but retains the charm and craftsmanship of yesterday-much like your very own Bed and Breakfast. In the early 1970's, the home had upgrades to the plumbing, wiring and insulation. In the late 70's to late 80's, the kitchen and family room were updated and a Finnleo Sauna was added and the kitchen cabinets were refinished in 2014. Vinyl replacement windows were also installed in 1997 and the current owners added a large picture window to showcase the family room views. In 2000, the master suite was remodeled along with the second upstairs bedroom and bath. The current owners have completely remodeled the main level bathroom, replaced the roof, added a state of the art dual heating and central air conditioning system, updated light fixtures, and added a custom built in dining room buffet with wine racks and granite top along with custom laundry room cabinetry. Fresh carpet and paint can also be seen throughout. The current owners took advantage of outdoor living by adding a screen porch to enjoy the wildlife and majestic views.
If you would like to try your hand at growing vegetables or flowers; there is plenty of area that receives full sun and most importantly the tillable acres are certified organic!
Seeing whitetail deer and wild turkeys on the property is a common occurrence. There are many suitable spots to set up a blind or tree stand and hunt on your own property. This is truly a sustainable property!
An added bonus to the acreage is the frontage on Big Swan Lake. Big Swan is well known as a good fishing providing the opportunity to catch walleyes, bass, northerns, catfish and pan fish. The fishing is great and you will be able to spend your free time on the lake; both open water and ice fishing.
