Water: Seco Creek Ranch has three very nice lakes and three ponds that have been well maintained, producing large bass, catfish and perch. The wet-weather Seco Creek and Little Seco Creek run throughout the ranch. There are four water wells on the ranch consisting of: a 2000' 1500gpm Edwards water well with diesel pump, and three electric wells. The Edwards well pipes water to a large earthen reservoir where it then is disbursed to all the lakes, ponds and water troughs. Gravity flow through 4 and 6 underground water lines makes the cost to maintain full lakes and ponds very low. Seco Creek rises five miles N. of Sentry Mountain and FM 470 in SW Bandera County and runs SE for 66 miles to it mouth on Hondo Creek, 7 miles W. of Moore, TX in Frio Co. The creek varies from steep to rolling with good soils supporting brush and grasses on the higher elevations to the expansive clays which support the hardwoods and water tolerant conifers. Seco is the Spanish word for dry and was given the name by Capt. Alonso De Leon, who led an expedition crossing the creek in 1689.

Wildlife: Careful attention to wildlife preservation on the ranch creates an unequaled wildlife sanctuary; home to a diversity of songbirds, and breeding ground for a number of migratory fowl. Spring, summer, autumn and winter bring an awesome year round migration of many bird species; thus affording nesting and wintering habitat for birds rarely found away from a river. Buntings, Warblers, Orioles, Green Kingfisher, Sandhill Crane and Tanagers are noted here seasonally. Many species of woodpeckers, vireos, wrens, swallows, sparrows, hawks, owls, and other varieties are seen throughout the year. There are resident wild swans that nest and live on the Seco Creek Ranch and at present have 4 goslings. Native wildlife and game on the Seco Creek Ranch are healthy including whitetail deer, axis deer, blackbuck, dove, quail, and flocks of turkey. There are a total of two deer breeding pens on the ranch. Whitetail deer of improved genetics have been released on the ranch, thus enhancing the already strong native genetics. A list of releases is available upon request. The two sunflower fields attract countless dove making for an unbelievable bird hunting season.

Improvements: The ranch is high-fenced into three pastures and two interior low fences. An all-weather black top road extends from the ranch entrance to the main house, headquarters-hunting lodge, and throughout the property.

1. In 1994 a stucco and rock main house was built consisting of 5BR/3BA, two living areas, and kitchen. There is a covered parking/portico, and exterior patios wrapping around 2 sides of the house. The main house is built on an elevated plateau overlooking manicured pastures and pristine countryside. 2. There is a 5,284sq/ft hunting lodge with 3BR/2BA, with western decor that was remodeled in 2012. 3. A 3BR/2BA foremans house.
