The Arabela Ranch entry is located at the original village site of Arabela. This is where the fully furnished ranch guest cabin is located and former dry goods store of the village. These improvements and grounds are architecturally similar complementing the scenic surrounding landscape and structures. Located in close proximity are the Four Season Mountain Resort of Ruidoso, New Mexico and Roswell, New Mexico which has a population of 50,000 people, and is approximately a forty-five minute drive.
Wildlife: Arabela Ranch is a sportsman paradise and wildlife haven. Management has developed multiple water sources, springs, and game feeders as attractants to the areas abundant herds of deer, elk, and turkey. Bear, cougar, coyotes, raptors and colorful birds are also common to the ranch and region. The ranch has private exclusive land owner hunting with a four month extended season annual deer hunt beginning in September ending December 14th. This extended hunt season permits six hunters to predetermine hunt times within any five consecutive days during the hunt term creating a window of opportunity rarely found elsewhere. Additionally, big game hunting provides for two private land owners Bull elk rifle, bow or muzzle loader hunts and two antlerless elk hunts. The ranch, located within New Mexico Game and Fish Hunt Unit 37, permits a lengthy elk hunt season beginning October 1st thru January 31st. Water: Arabela Ranch has many natural resources and features. Two water wells and nine named springs are generously sprinkled throughout the property. The lodge has four bedrooms, three baths, living room, dining area, great room and a fantastic veranda overlooking a large spring-fed pond, and native landscape extending to the mountains. Certain areas along the trails are an Apache Indian teepee village, adobe ruins, a miners log cabin and camp grounds. The Mountain route accesses wild country with many points of interest to include Elk Valley, Arrow Head Spring, Ponderosa Park, Look-Out Peak, Cathedral Pass, and additional sites to watch wildlife and explore. This ranch has the benefit of paved road access, new or upgraded infrastructure and improvements, new waste water disposal systems, electric, telephone, and significant developed water resources.
