The Lummis Ranch South Camp is located southeast of Cheyenne, which is the capital of Wyoming. Once part of a much larger ranch, the Lummis Ranch South Camp today consists of 5,080± deeded acres and is located only minutes from downtown. The ranch consists primarily of pasture used to summer yearlings or cow/calf pairs. Approximately 1,280 acres of the ranch are managed under a controlled grazing style similar to a Savory grazing method, using New Zealand style electric fences shaped like a wagon wheel with water at the center. The yearlings are rotated through the pastures, allowing the previously grazed pasture to rest and regenerate for later use. The ranch has a good set of improvements and includes covered working facilities and a set of scales. Water is piped across the ranch from wells.
