Niobrara WRP
A fantastic location for waterfowl hunting around the Missouri River backwaters! The combination of water sources and surrounding habitat often creates an ideal environment not only for waterfowl but also for deer, wild turkey populations and fishing.
Land
Waterfowl such as ducks and geese are attracted to the riverine and wetland areas, providing ample opportunities for waterfowl hunters. The backwaters of the Missouri River can serve as important resting and feeding grounds for these birds during migration, making it a prime location for successful hunts.
The presence of excellent habitat is also beneficial for deer and wild turkey populations. A diverse and well-managed ecosystem can provide ample food sources, cover, and breeding grounds for these species. This contributes to healthy and sustainable populations, enhancing the overall hunting experience.
Fishing the Missouri...
Fishing the Missouri River and its backwaters can be a rewarding experience, offering a diverse range of fish species and scenic landscapes. The Missouri River and its backwaters are home to various fish species, including catfish, walleye, northern pike, bass, sauger, and more. Backwaters are often productive fishing spots. Explore channels, sloughs, and areas with submerged structures like fallen trees or vegetation. These areas can provide shelter and food sources for fish.
The majority of the property is enrolled in the Wetland Reserve Program (WRP) and is in a perpetual easement to preserve the native aspect of the Missouri River bottom and its backwaters. There are approximately +/-8 acres around the old homestead that are not enrolled in the program and would allow for many opportunities. Access to the property is provided by HWY 12, just west of Niobrara, NE and Niobrara State Park.
