Homer is the self proclaimed "Halibut Capital of the World" sporting halibut catches over 400lbs and the salmon fishing isn't too shabby either. When not out fishing, set back and enjoy the wildlife viewing from your own property. There is an abundance of animals including bear, moose and lynx traveling through the wildlife corridor in addition to eagles soaring over head. There is a beautiful view of Kachemak Bay and the surrounding mountains. When looking out towards the Inlet you have a spectacular view of two volcanoes, Mt. Augustine and Douglas.
