Improvements: Moore Elevator is made up of two concrete grain elevators and annexes, an office (1,040 sq. ft.), truck scales, and feed mill. An additional warehouse/office space is located on the south side of East Lake Drive and east of Southeast Avenue D. The grain handling facility was originally constructed in 1954. The two concrete grain elevators and annexes are made up of two separate sections referred to as section A and section b in this writeup.
Section A contains 14 reinforced concrete grain storage silos ranging from 94 feet to 119 feet high, including interstitial spaces and an approximately 200-foot elevator leg rated at 5,000 bushels per hour. The leg is powered by a thirty-horsepower electric motor and has a twenty-hole distributor. Included is a 1,750-bushel trash bin with a 14-inch auger, a manifold type aeration system, a caged man lift, two concrete dump pits, approximately 18 feet deep with steel grates (with an approximate capacity of 80,000 bushels each), and a 24x30x36 head house. Total storage capacity of section A is 361,000 bushels.
Section B contains 20 reinforced concrete grain storage silos ranging from 110 feet to 124 feet high, including interstitial spaces and two approximately 220-foot elevator legs each rated at 10,000 bushels per hour. Each leg is powered by a sixty-horsepower electric motor and has a thirty-two-hole distributor. Included is a manifold type aeration system, a caged man lift, two concrete dump pits, approximately 22 feet deep with steel grates (with an approximate capacity of 120,000 bushels each), and a 52x59x61 head house. Total capacity of section B is 1,059,000 bushels.
The elevator office is a gross of 1,040 square feet on a pier and beam foundation with brick veneer and a metal roof. The HVAC system is pad mounted. Overall building condition is average. Outside the elevator office is the 82-ton Fairbanks truck scale (on a 10 foot x 70 foot concrete platform) with an electronic printer.
The feed mill (25,406 square feet) is not in operation. Due to the age and condition of the feed mill and warehouse/office, they are being considered for storage only. The structure is constructed with a reinforced concrete slab, steel pipe frame with metal siding, and a metal roof. The ceiling height has a 14-foot clearance. They do not contribute any value to the grain storage facility.
