While the rest of Texas is sweltering in the 90's and 100's, because of the elevation and frequent afternoon summer thunderstorms, the average summer high in this area is in the middle 80's with lows at night frequently descending into the 50's (on rare occasions into the 40's).In addition to the ponderosa pines there are also some large Emory oaks as well as pinyon/pinon pines and alligator junipers. The Davis Mountains Resort is one of the few mountainous areas in Texas that has substantial tree cover and is not part of a national park like Big Bend National Park or Guadalupe Mountains National Park. Mt. Livermore is the highest mountain in the Davis Mountains reaching over 8300 feet in elevation. This property has scenic views in all directions. This property has telephone and electricity available at the front of the property with maintained gravel road frontage, so it is easy to access.
