The lots throughout the development are located in a way to maximize the property’s beautiful views and outdoor activities. Approximately one mile behind the large log overhead gate that marks the entrance into the property and the end of Jackson County Road 4, the first set of lots (1-5) enjoy views looking back towards the mountains as they climb in the back of the property. These lots also overlook the 5,000 foot long grass landing strip that owners will have access to. Across the road from the turn into lots one through five is lot 6, which is situated on the top of a knob overlooking a large pond and the back of the development. It has 2,000 sq. ft. modular on a 2,000 sq. ft. unfinished basement.
From lot 6 the road follows Spring Creek as it works its way around Sugarloaf Mountain. The development has the water rights on Spring Creek. Its lush bottoms and numerous beaver ponds offer spectacular views for the lots as they overlook the creek and Sugarloaf. The further back in the development you go the more varied the terrain and the more heavily timbered the lots. Once you get to the back of the development, lots 27-32 border BLM lands to the east. There is a gate going into the public lands just north of these lots giving all the owners in the development access to the thousands of acres right out their back door. Also to the northwest of the development is a state section that the development has the recreation and grazing rights to, giving another 640 acres for the lot owners to enjoy.
Currently there is a privately owned elk herd under a double eight foot high fence on the property. The Trophy Mountain herd contains some of the largest trophy bull elk in North America. The development’s location is also worth noting. Just five miles to the east is Blue Ribbon Trout fishing on the North Platte River! It is also 22 miles from Walden (the county seat), 90 miles from Steamboat Springs and 120 miles from Fort Collins. The Mount Zirkel Wilderness is 15 miles to the west and the North Platte Wilderness is 4 miles to the east. The development also features end of the road privacy and county road access.
After seeing this property you will quickly realize why this property is called the Trophy Mountain Development. There are few places like it.
