Greenhorn Mountain Ranch is about 5 miles northwest of Gardner, Colorado, an unincorporated town of about 85 with a preK through 8th grade school, two churches, a bar, a convenience store and a fire station. The location looks out on Greenhorn, the Spanish Peaks and the Sangre de Cristos. The most difficult traffic is the occasional herd of cattle, and the main noise is the wind or the occasional plane overhead (there is a small private airfield about 2 miles south). Daytime summer temperatures may get into the nineties, but at an altitude of 7950 feet above sea level, nights are cool, sometimes dropping into the fifties. Snowfall amounts vary, but early accumulations are light powder that can be swept away with a broom, and the county maintains the roads accessing the property. It is surrounded by public land, Black Mountain State Trust Land, many parcels of BLM, and the San Isabel National Forest. The mule deer hunting here is excellent on the property and the surrounding public lands. Antelope, elk, and the occasional black bear wander through. Game Management Uinit 84 is known for producing trophy bull elk approaching 400". Elk are abundant just east of the property in the Greenhorn Wilderness, and to the west in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
There are two homes on the property: the main 4 bedroom, 5 bath home (4268 Sq. Ft.) with a two car attached garage, and the office/shop with kitchen (1600 Sq. Ft.) just a few hundred feet to the south. The second building’s shop equipment may be purchased separately. It has two offices/bedrooms, a large central room currently housing a ping pong table, a carpeted exercise room that could be an office or bedroom and a bathroom with a shower. It also has radiant floor heat under Saltillo and vinyl tiles.

The other is a 30x36 fully equipped horse barn with 2 outdoor covered concrete floored stalls, an outer concrete pad that could be used as a wash rack and a locking tack room inside. The main barn has a brick floor and can store several hundred bales of hay on pallets with no mold developing, and has additional shelving for storage as well as a workbench.
