Woods and Water Strip Pit Tract

It’s not often that reclaimed strip mine properties are offered in the area and this one won’t last long. The 40 +/- acre, mostly wooded tract contains the entirety of one strip pit, most of another with a 1/4 mile of it on the property and parts of three others, totaling over 5 surface acres of water. With mound terrain typical of strip pits and crystal clear water, stepping onto it feels like being transported into a miniature mountain environment. The water is so clear that it doesn’t take long to notice the pits are teeming with largemouth. While fishing the front pit, I observed a massive bass lazily swim out from under the deadfall I was perched upon. The tract is also loaded with deer, truly making this an outdoorsman’s paradise only an hour from Kansas City. At the front of the property is an old homesite with power and a well, which is an ideal location for camping or a cabin.
