Sassafras House was aptly named after the prolific Sassafras trees that are found in the wooded hillsides nearby. There is a mammoth fireplace in the living room faced with antique fire brick and a hearth made of reclaimed stone from a local antebellum log cabin.

Just off the kitchen, you can enjoy your coffee and the sunrise on a secluded patio flanked by a colorful rose garden. The 57 ft. x 12 ft. sunroom on the rear of Sassafras House has expansive views of over 1 mile into the distance as the elevation drops 100 feet across the valley below. Under its current ownership, the land has been managed for songbirds, quail, deer, and turkey. Most of the property is in early successional habitat with native grasses and trees creating a Savannah like environment. With so much open land, there are plenty of locations for a dove field and deer/turkey food plots.
