Hunt House

The Hunt House is a storied antebellum estate located 3 miles north of Grand Junction, TN and about 50 minutes from Memphis, TN. The home was built in 1852 by John Wilkins Hunt and is a West Tennessee Treasure. The Hunt House played a prominent role in Civil War history with skirmishes and battles occurring nearby.

During the homes construction, local materials were primarily used. The attractive red bricks were made from local clays and were likely hand formed and kilned on the property. The timber used was most certainly harvested from the property as well. In the game room downstairs, you can see the roughhewn exposed timbers which support the structure.
