Property Description: The Deep Woods Preserve is a unique, diverse ecological area along a tributary of Beason Creek and within the Spring Creek and Lower Brazos Watersheds. Primary Conservation Objectives: Property is situated at the convergence of the Piney Woods and Post Oak Savanna Eco-Regions of Texas, and exhibits characteristics of both. The Conservation Easement protects the property from development and fragmentation, in doing so protecting the flora and fauna communities of this highly diverse habitat.

A 0.61 acre freshwater pond provides habitat for numerous amphibian species, and resident, migratory, and wintering bird species.
Existing Structures: The following structures exist within a 2-acre building envelope:
Main House: 2,040 sq. ft. with two screened porches, one covered porch, and a carport.
Barn: 2,400 sq. ft. with horse corrals
Improvements: In-ground swimming pool and gazebo. The property also contains a number of trails suitable for hiking, biking, and horseback riding
Qualifications and Restrictions Tax Status: This property is protected under a conservation easement.
Uses: The property offers great opportunities for horeseback riding, hiking, bird watching, and other low impact recreational activities, and the current structures on the building envelope offer a secluded retreat in nature, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. In keeping with the goals of conservation: logging, development, or any other unauthorized alterations to the landscape are not permitted under the conservation easement.
