The owners have been aggressive in their conservation practices, which include juniper removal and pre-commercial thinning in the stands of timber. The ranch has ponderosa pine and douglas fir present on it. Something very unique to the ranch is the mineral rights. All mineral rights are intact and will transfer to new ownership. It is extremely rare to find property in Grant County with mineral rights not divided or taken.
Wildlife abounds on Bologna Creek Ranch! Mule deer, elk, bears, bobcats, cougars, antelope, chukars, mountain quail and california quail. Redband trout are present on the ranch and Steelhead spawn in East Bologna Creek under the shade of old growth ponderosa pine trees. Due to the mild climate, many species of wildlife winter on the ranch as well. Bull and buck shed horns are picked up annually on the property.
The Umatilla National Forest is immediately adjacent to the ranch and offers ample room to extend your hunting opportunities. The ranch sits in the highly coveted Heppner hunting unit and qualifies for 5 LOP's for elk and 5 LOP's for deer.
