This picturesque ranch is located off of Highway 26 near the town of Dayville, Or. There is approximately 1694 deeded acres. It has Franks Creek on it as well as a quarter mile frontage on the John Day River. A BLM lease is available with the ranch that is composed of about 2100 acres. As you can see by the map it is contiguous to the deeded acres. It has 79 acres +/- of water rights to irrigate with. This has been a working cattle ranch with the necessary infrastructure built into it. There is a decent, functional set of corrals, shop with concrete floor, nice barn, and several other outbuildings. A 48x48 hay storage shed is also on the ranch.
The home is an older, but well built ranch house. It has 4 bedrooms and one and half baths. The kitchen is large and roomy.

There are elk, deer, quail, chukar, and pheasants that frequent the ranch. Elk are not as territorial as deer so they will be there when you see them but if the irrigated land were in alfalfa then the chances are greatly multiplied for both deer and elk. It is the green magnet. The bird hunting, depending on management, is very good. Fishing is good on the John Day River especially for steelhead. It is a very good steelhead river with a quarter mile of deeded land fronting it.
The climate in the John Day Valley is, what we think, the best in Oregon. It has mild winters usually with very little snow and lots of sun. Summers will be warm and excellent for growing alfalfa and grass. Grant County is conservative and very friendly. It is sparsely populated. People tell us we are 50-75 years back in the culture. It is nice to be in an area that people look out for you and you reciprocate.
