There are 3 barns, shop, and a bunkhouse. Also a newer 21 stall
horse barn with an 80x80 indoor arena, office, and tack room. A very
nice outdoor roping arena (150x250) and a 100’ round corral.
Water: This ranch has an unbelievable amount of water on it. Rudio Creek
is a year round stream that flows for 3 ½ miles through the ranch and
are spawning grounds for steelhead and has a trout population. Gilmore
creek is a very scenic creek but may quit flowing during a dry summer.
There are approximately 200 acres of water rights that are used to irrigate
hay fields and pasture. These fields are irrigated with wheel lines and
big guns. There are two reservoirs that are filled in the spring to irrigate
the fields. One is approximately 8 acres and the other 1-2 acres.
numerous ponds and springs exist on the ranch with many of the springs
developed for stock and wildlife water.
Recreation: This ranch has it all. 100’s of elk with video footage and pictures to
prove it. Huge bucks that have been shown in the Oregon hunting
synopsis. The location and layout of this ranch makes this one of the
premiere hunting/recreation ranches in the west. The floor of this ranch
is layered with alfalfa with the upper reaches of the ranch leading into
thick timbered draws and rims. Trophy bulls and bucks have both been
taken on this ranch. The large reservoir has had fish in the past but has
been recently emptied to clean it. The reservoir could be kept at static
level in order to keep water clear and clean for a large trout population.
There are good numbers of both chukars and quail residing on the
property. Great goose and duck hunting can be had on the reservoir during season. The North Fork of the John Day River is just north of the ranch a couple of miles and offers great bass fishing in the spring, summer, fall and excellent steelhead fishing from December-Mid April.

General: This ranch is truly a one of a kind. Being at the end of a county road
offers excellent privacy and a remoteness. The ranch is built in
the shape of bowl with the floor of the ranch at 2200’ to the top
of the ranch reaching to 5000’. There are approximately 8200 acres of
BLM that is adjacent for recreational purposes. Rainfall is between 11-16
inches of rainfall per year. Snowfall in the winter is minimal on the floor
of the ranch with maybe a few inches at a time but none staying for any
length of time. Summers are quite mild with temperatures mostly in the
80’s to 90’s. This ranch has been taken care of with good fences and
improvements that are not run down or in need of repair. There is also the
option of taking over a domestic elk operation with a working facility and
about 35 acres of game fence connected with a series of alleys to work
them.
