Legion Creek Ranch
Legion Creek Ranch is a 536.084 acre ranch on the north west section of the famed Willow City Loop, just 20 miles north of Fredericksburg on Hwy. 16. Legion Creek runs through the north west part of the ranch with 2,390 feet of both sides of the creek. The ranch has direct access to the Willow City Loop and approximately 5,000 feet of road frontage. The soils are predominantly a sandy loam base with some granite outcroppings. A wet weather creek runs from south to north on the east side of the ranch. It has many pockets of standing water, dramatic ravines and draws, which offer the owner many choices for creating additional water features with dam sites, etc.

The ranch has great hardwoods with a mix of live oak, post oak, cedar elm and mesquite. Native grasses flourish along with blue bonnets, indian blanket and many more. Wildlife is abundant with white tail deer, turkey, wild hogs, dove and occasionally some quail. 200 acres +/- has been cleared to remove unwanted bee brush, smaller mesquites and cedar to improve the habitat for the wildlife and cattle.
A LCRA transmission line runs from east to west on the south end of the ranch and cuts the north west corner of the ranch. While the line is present, it is not intrusive nor a negative impact to the ranch.
Ground water in the area is good with numerous water wells ranging in the 20+gpm range. A windmill and electricity are present in the northwest section of the ranch. An additional water well was drilled in November 2017 which yielded 20 GPM. The views of the surrounding mountain and peaks are stunning and provide for numerous building sites for a home or cabin.
This ranch has great surface water with Legion Creek on the west side and a wet weather creek on the east side. Good ground water is in the area with a windmill and an additional water well on the ranch. Great trees, native grasses, wildflowers and abundant wildlife are all present. When you add the tremendous views of the surrounding Willow City Loop area with direct paved access within 20 miles of Fredericksburg, this ranch is a must see.
