Mrs. DuPont loved Wicklow and made many improvements to the property during her tenure.
Today, Wicklows spectacular grounds cover 8.75 acres framed with azaleas, camellias, huge live oaks and pines. The old ricefields behind the house are now wooded. A landscaped pond is adjacent to a long driveway leading to the main house and offers easy access to the guest house, managers residence, garden shed and pump house. The buildings have been recently painted and upgraded in the last four years. There are numerous upgrades to all buildings including a new heating and cooling system in the main house, new water treatment system and fiber optic lines.
Wicklow Hall is well located less than 15 miles from restaurants and marinas in downtown Georgetown and 43 miles to historic Charleston. There are two boat landings just minutes from Wicklow. One is located at the South Carolina DNR Landing on the North Santee River and the South Island Ferry is located on the Inter Coastal Waterway.
