The previous grazing from livestock ending created a flush of amazing successional growth, and that pulled in the deer. Trails are everywhere, worn deep into the ground, along with rubs and scrapes found at every turn. The fields below that are in hay and are currently cash-rented by a local farmer who has round-bales the alfalfa-mixed hay. These fields have a great deal of road frontage along 121 running between State Road 52 and the town of Laurel.
