The grasslands have been well managed, with very few noxious weeds or volunteer trees. There is an established trail system leading around the grasslands. Throughout the RIM acres are multiple small ponds with open water. These ponds are great watering holes for whitetail deer. They also make for some added waterfowl hunting opportunities (especially wood ducks.) The woods along the river are littered with deer and turkey sign. This travel corridor for wildlife moving up and down the Des Moines River. Many hunters have experienced great success on this property. Multiple nice deer have been taken there over the years, and more recently, a healthy population of turkeys has shown up.
